5 Hipster Men’s hairstyles of 2017

We continually see men’s hairstyle trends that come and go every year, yet you still find some managing to hang on for years. One thing we’re seeing stay consistent are low and high fades, which provide a bit of retro and modern. Although we’re seeing a lot of specialized cuts this year combining classic elements with newer and more chic ideas.

If you’re looking for a stylish cut this year, here’s the top five to consider to stand out in any crowd.

1. High Fade With Swept Back StyleMen's-hairstyles-salon-miami-beach

With high fades continually being popular in recent years, this style is a little more formal, though still looking professional. The fade on this cut is short, but not down to the skin. For the top, you’ll use a matte hold to avoid a messy look.

2. Short Textured Haircut With Long FringeMen's-hairstyles-salon-miami-beach

You’re seeing this popular haircut as well, yet it’s for those looking for something unique in hip settings.

The long fringe might take a little time to do right, including some challenges in maintenance.

3. Buzz Cuts With Shape-Up and Disconnected BeardsMen's-hairstyles-salon-miami-beach

A truly hip look this year is the buzzcut with a shaped top. It’s another example on how fades on the sides are still popular with new variations. This adds another new haircut trend: disconnected beards.

Various other haircuts now use the disconnected beard look.

4. Long in the Front and Short Everywhere ElseMen's-hairstyles-salon-miami-beach

Esquire recently did a piece about popular short haircuts used by male celebrities. While they note haircuts from Leonardo DiCaprio to Tom Hiddleston, one good cut for those with thinning hair is the Alexander Skarsgard look.

This keeps your hair longer up front, then shorter in all other sections. It gives the impression you have more hair than you maybe do.

5. Disconnected PompadoursMen's-hairstyles-salon-miami-beach

Yet another popular style you’re seeing around is the disconnected pompadour involving a fade on the sides and voluminous top hair. As a quiff hairstyle, you have numerous options with the pompadour look. Even combed back pompadours are now universal styles, giving you chic and trendy hair for virtually any occasion.

Trends in the hair industry change constantly, luckily enough, hair is reborn just as quickly and then its time for the next look. Come see one of our experts at Red Market to assist you in choosing your next sweeping hairstyle.

Hair Trends  Spring 2016

Spring is a time for fresh, bright beginnings. Many people choose to celebrate tgallery-1455639384-taylor-swift-bob-2016-grammy-awardshe
new season by trying something different with their hairstyle. This year, there are five hairstyle trends that stand apart from all of the other fads, and will definitely prove to be the epitome of carefree style for spring and summer.

1. Traditional Bob With Long Layers and Bangs
Many people balk at the word, “traditional,” but in the case of the classic bob hair cut, it holds the promise of a timeless style. Shorter hair will serve to keep you cooler during the warmer months, while the modern layers and bangs help to create a look that is easy to style while still being very on trend.

2. Texturized Long Layers
This seasons style trends point to many short-haired looks, but long hair will always be a classic summertime staple. For spring and summer, you can keep your long locks fresh by asking your beautician for a slight relaxer and some layering work. Not only are texturized layers fairly low-maintainance, they also continue to look great after a dip in the pool or ocean.

While the name of this look may remind some people of their grandmother’s carpeting, this modern haircut, sported by the likes of Taylor Swift, is anything but outdated. When asking your stylist for this cut, make sure that they trim many medium layers around your face. With this style you can still put your hair up, but short, wispy pieces still frame your face. A spritz o472202354f sea-salt spray is all that it will take to have you looking fabulous in the morning.

4. Baby Bangs
Bangs are completely on trend this for this spring, no matter the overall length or texture of your hair. One particular style of bangs is making a comeback however, and this is the baby bags. These stylish wisps cover about half of your forehead, but they pack a huge punch as far as hair trends go.

Red Market Miami Q&A with Top Stylist, Jessica

The Best Miami Hair Salon has a chat with Renaissance Woman, Jessica Keglovich, known for her couture styles, gorgeous make-up artistry and overall commitment to making people not only look great, but feel incredible too:bes-hair-stylist-in-miami

How did you get started in hair?

Growing up I went to the hair salon with my grandmother every Saturday.  The ladies in the salon would do her hair, French braid mine and then her and I would go shopping.  I just remember I loved being in that environment.  So much so, that even though the salon had a little play area for the children who came in, the thing I remember most was never wanting to be in that room! My desires were to see what the stylists were doing behind the doors of the backroom, experiment with their tools and read every product’s label so I could gain all of the knowledge of what they did.  I needed to know all about it!  Through that time, my passion and interest only grew.  By fifteen, after much persuasion to one of my best friend’s aunt who was a manager and hairstylist of a salon, finally allowed the two of us to work at her salon for a few hours on Saturdays.  We started off small- basically just cleaning and sweeping hair. Which at the time, was the best thing ever! Then, eventually we got to wash hair, set styles and everything else an assistant would typically help with. An extra set of hands in a salon never go un-used for long! During that time, a top colorist from Izzazu asked me to come and assist him after seeing me work at the other salon.  I started working for him, went to beauty school during high school and continued to work for that salon for twelve years where I perfected my skills. I had amazing mentors there.

How did you get started in make-up?

Hair and Make-up by Jessica

Hair and Make-up by Jessica

Well, I was always interested in make-up, but I started doing it professionally about nine years ago.  I worked at a huge salon with a large staff so typically estheticians took the reigns of makeup. On occasion when a make-up artist wasn’t available, I would often step in.  At about that point, I began doing make-up and styling for a local agency, which in turn, introduced me to the print world of fashion. Soon after, I was recommended to a really well known photographer who was looking for someone to do make-up and styling for his up coming shoot.  The photographer and I ended up hitting it off really well. His team and I worked really well together and we shared the same philosophy for our arts, as well as the experience we try to offer our clients.  Because of this, he began hiring me for his other productions which has really launched my career in the make-up artistry and production styling aspect. This new path has led me to be fortunate enough to travel abroad, of which I now typically do at least every few weeks.

What inspires you as an artist?

I honestly get inspired by really random things; people on the streets in the different cities I visit for work, paintings in art galleries, Andy Warhol for one, (who is a fellow Pittsburgh-er),  and even the lifestyles of my clients. Anything and everything creative!

What kind of work do you do for special events?

As far as the special event styling and makeup, I work with a lot of high-end event planners, including a lot of work with bridal parties and red carpet events.  Often times I’m styling in a new city for a person I’ve never met before, so I truly believe in getting to know the client, talking; bouncing ideas back and forth and customizing a look based on the individual. Whether it be a wedding, a bar/bat mitzvah or any other milestone moment, I always listen and consider the client’s preferences first. I draw inspiration on who they are as individuals- I look at what they are wearing for the event, where the event is, etc. Then, together we create their whole look with hair, make-up and even their wardrobe-down to their jewelry to complete the occasion.

In your opinion, what sets Miami apart from other cities?

I think what makes Miami unique is that there are so many influences from different backgrounds here.  People from all over the world come to Red Market Miami seeking a “Miami vibe style.”  So what we do as hair stylists certainly influences the world in that vibe, but we, in turn, are influenced by our customers as well. It’s so interesting to me to know that I have repeat clients from Brazil, Russia, Costa Rica, and other places. So what that says, is that our work is regularly walking the streets of all those cities. Whether it be in their local grocery stores buying groceries and going to work every day. Its cool to have an outreach like that. Our salon certainly has a lot of international influence- we don’t have just one kind of style or client. It all sort of melts together!

What is your definition of beauty?

Well first, I think real beauty starts from within and who you are as a whole.  Whatever makes you feel incredible shines through from your soul and is reflected through your eyes.  When you feel like you look incredible, you feel incredible and you have confidence.  Beauty should be individual and inspired by you!

What are some of the things you like to do outside of the salon?

Outside of the salon, I love to spend time with my family, which is why I moved here. I also love to paint and cook.  One of my favorite things to do on my own is turn on some music, set up my easel, open a bottle of wine and paint.  When cooking, which I do often, especially with my family every Sunday, I always prefer a from-scratch or homemade recipe.  Homemade meals and tradition are important to me. Whether it be in hairstyling or life,  your foundation is key. You can’t know where you’re going unless you know where you’ve been!

If you could wake up anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I suppose if I wanted to disappear for a few days to do some mediation or chill out, I would definitely choose Princeville, Hawaii.  However, when it comes to day-to-day life,  I am totally happiest where I am right now- embarking on the Miami market.  I’m blessed to have done so much traveling and experiencing so much throughout my career. I absolutely love it and couldn’t do without where the production life takes me, but being in the salon all day and working with my clients is where my passion began… and it still lies there.

What is your favorite thing about being a stylist?

I’ve been styling hair for 14 years now and while I absolutely have a passion for the technical aspect of styling, my favorite thing by far is making people feel good on the inside through what I can do as an artist on the outside.

Red Market Hair Salon Miami: Restoring Body and Fullness to your Hair

Almost any woman can find a fault with her hair, or a way in which she wants her hair to improve. For example, many women find their hair to be too fine and thin; perhaps they are even suffering from hair loss. Their locks falls flat without body or bounce. This is especially a problem during the dry winter months, since there is no humidity to give hair its thicker appearance. In addition, hair grows more slowly in the winter. So what can women do for fine or thinning hair? Thankfully, women can restore body and fullness to their hair, it’s only a matter of what hair-care products they use. Red Market Salon in Miami offers Kerastase, a high-quality brand that’s exclusively found in luxury salons. So let’s see what Kerastase offers, and you’ll be one step closer to that full head of hair!

Spećifique Enhances Thinning Hair

Spećifique  is designed for both women who have fine hair, and those who are suffering from thinning hair. Hair loss can be a problem at any age! Spećifique  is a three-step system designed to stop hair loss in its tracks and give each strand definition and body. The treatment system is guaranteed to restore fullness to hair in thirty days. During a trial, 77% percent of users experienced “increased fullness,” 76% of users felt a “thickening effect,” and 70% of users experienced “enhanced density.” According to Kerastase’s website, “The scalp can be prone to temporary or longer lasting imbalances, such as hair thinning due to predisposition, stress or environmental impacts. Spećifique addresses these concerns, leaving you with a well-balanced scalp and hair.” The Spećifique system comes with three separate products, listed below.

Bain Stimuliste GL ($39): This shampoo energizes each strand and is perfect for thinning hair. According to their website, it “revitalizes and gently cleanses the scalp to reduce excess sebum and remove product build up.”

Lotion Densitive GL ($40): This treatment spray is designed to revitalize your hair. By stimulating micro-circulation, this spray adds substance, body, and fullness to your hair. In addition to creating volume, it also soothes the scalp.

Intensive Scalp Treatment ($60): This scalp treatment is intended to be massaged into the hair as the final step in Specifique’s three-step system. As they state on their website, “The intensive scalp treatment contains the highest concentration of Arginine to maintain the hair fiber’s potential of longevity. Combined with a massage application, it stimulated micro-circulation to provide the optimal environment to promote healthy hair.
