Red Market Miami: The Red Ombre

Fiery shades of ombre hair are all over the runway and on the pages of

hottest fashion magazines this season. This is one trend you can get into,

and keep your hair conservative enough that you will not have to hide it in

a chignon at the office.

Short, chic hair can wear ombre in shaggy styles, with darker shades

around the roots and neckline, progressing to lighter shades around the

face. Your professional hair stylist can create unique Miami – sunset effect

on short hair. The use of a brush technique of sunset red around the

neckline and root areas will begin the look. They will finish with an

application with lighter highlights of golden red on the ends. The color

choice will depend on how bold or subtle you want your ombre look to be.

If your hair is medium length: Talk to your stylist about a blunt bob, in a

golden red ombre. The classic bob cut gets an edgy lift as the strands go

from bright copper to a deep warm golden blonde. This color combination

is ideal for lighter skin tones. For deeper skin tones: try a deep mahogany

to light red. If your hair is wavy or curly in texture consider a concave bob

with this color combination.

Long hair will obviously show more ombre progression. Ask your stylist to

start with a deep cherry brown to ginger: if you have deep, cool toned

skin. For lighter and warmer skin tones: consider a medium to light warm

auburn progression. It will give you a sunny, youthful look without going

If your workplace is more progressive and casual: you can have fun with a

fire red to orange ombre or a dramatic black cherry to red effect. For a

very edgy look, your stylist can create a jagged ombre by wielding a

smaller brush, and meticulously establishing a lines using color clips.

Ombre is a hair color trend that works for almost any hair type. If you wear

bangs, talk to your stylist about blending the color in and styling options

for your bangs. They can also recommend the right products to maintain

your new trendy hair.

Red Market Salon-Miami is on top of the latest hair trends. Their stylists

are dedicated to achieving a picture perfect color and style combination

that will get you noticed!

RED MARKET MIAMI: The Right Haircut for your Face

Sometimes, you just want a change. Changing your hairstyle is a great way to feel like every day has something new and exciting about it—but perhaps you’re feeling unsure about what looks will pair well with your face shape. How bold can you go before you can’t pull it off anymore? Here are some tips on the best haircut for your face shape.

Bangs are great for diamond shaped faces. They help to soften your face shape. This face shape does well with medium to chin length hairstyles, with a variety of textures and styles to choose from. The main thing for diamond shaped faces is to avoid too many layers in your style, and to stay away from pixies and really short haircuts. This shorter hairstyles don’t balance well with this face shape.

Wavy long locks or fun, pixie cuts look great on a heart shaped face. Shoulder-length hair also works well, but the general goal for people with this face shape is to frame their face well. Long bangs or choppy layers are great. Long, layer-less styles are not.

Long hairstyles, short cuts that frame the face, or blunt cuts that end below shoulder length do well for square faces. Side partings are best, but feathery bangs are doable as well. Long bands simply help to soften the jawline better on square faces. Stay far away from pixie cuts though!

Round faces flourish when you choose haircuts that give the sense of lengthening the face. Long, medium, and chin-length styles go well with round faces. Blunt cuts, straight fringe, and short bobs are not ideal cuts for this shape. Go for wispy or tapered edges.

This face shape is the ideal face shape. If you see a style you love, try it! Your face shape is compatible with any and all kinds of hairstyles.

Everything to know about the Keratin Treatment

keratin treatment- salon in miami

If you have curly hair or are prone to frizz, then you absolutely must get a keratin treatment this summer. Keratin treatments tame frizz and make your hair appear shinier and more tamed. They also cut down on the time you spend drying and styling your hair– and isn’t that what you want? Here are a few things you should know before getting your keratin treatment.

How Long Will Treatment Take?

There are certainly at-home keratin treatments you can try. But if you want it done right, you need the magic touch of a professional stylist. In a first class salon such as Red Market, you should expect treatment to last about 90 minutes. However it may vary depending on length and hair type.

How Long Will Keratin Treatment Last?

Keratin treatments will keep your hair manageable and frizz-free for 8 to 10 weeks after you receive your treatment with proper at home care, Chlorine and Sulphate containing products may affect the time your treatment stays intact. You will find your blow-drying time cut in half and easy hairstyles are even easier.

How Should I Maintain My Hair After A Keratin Treatment?

Depending on the Keratin used on your hair type, you may need to avoid washing your hair for four days after treatment, Red Market offers different types of keratin for different types of hair. But keep in mind, we are talking about 8 to 10 weeks of hair glory. So whether you are waiting 24 hours of 4 days, it is a small sacrifice many are happy to pay.

Experts recommend that you avoid shampoos with sodium-sulfates. But, shouldn’t you be doing that anyway? We can help you choose a shampoo for your hair type that will keep your keratin intact.

Something as complex as a Keratin treatment where each step of the process is crucial to the end result, it is best to go with a professional stylist.

An experienced professional will do the job properly, and will be able to offer a higher-end treatment than you can get from a box. Finally, as not all keratin treatments are alike, you should consult with a top hair stylist because the wrong treatment can alter the tone of your hair color.

Whether you have dry scalp or split ends, oily hair or split ends, hair care is an ongoing battle. Thankfully, when you don’t have time to visit us at Red Market Miami’s beauty salon as often as you’d want, there are options to keep your hair healthy at home combined with a great Kerastase regimen in between. For your consideration, here are several low-cost hair recipes for giving you the admirable qualities you want your hair to exude:

If you are looking to hydrate your dry hair and scalp, a rehydrating oil mask is for you. Heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil in the microwave for 20 seconds, add 2 tablespoons of honey and apply to your hair. Cover with a shower cap and leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse.

This avocado hair mask will restore shine, hydrate, repair and fight the frizz effect. Mix together 1 whole avocado, 2 eggs, 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in a bowl. Starting at the roots, work the mixture into your hair, then let sit for 15 to 20 minutes and rinse.

Problems with oily hair? Try this simple yogurt hair mask:

Mix 1/2 cup (more if you have longer or thicker hair) yogurt

1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon honey

Mix in a bowl and layer onto the mid-lengths to ends.

Let the mixture set for 15 to 20 minutes, rinse and wash hair with an organic fruit shampoo to battle any lingering yogurt odor.

If frizz is your foe, using this frizz-fighter mask once a month will help keep it under control.

1/2 cup yogurt

1/2 cup honey

1 tablespoon almond oil

Whipped together and applied to your hair and scalp will do wonders.

Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse.

To eliminate excess oil or grease and give your hair an attractive shine, use this strawberry hair mask. Blend together 6 or 7 strawberries, 1 tablespoon coconut oil and 1 tablespoon honey in a food processor or blender. Apply it evenly to damp hair and leave on for 5 to 10 minutes. Then rinse the hair well with warm water. For more hair tips, visit our blog.

Sea Salt Spray for the perfect beach waves hairstyles

Salt spray is a phenomenal product that helps create effortless, natural-looking wavy hairstyles without the need for a curling wand. It’s great for those days that you want your hair to look styled, yet natural, and it’s extremely popular during the summer months. Although it’s a popular product, there’s still a lot of people who haven’t learned how to perfectly use it. Below you’ll find a few tips to help you achieve those beautiful beach waves every time.

Don’t Use too Much

You don’t want to saturate your hair with salt spray because it’ll look dried out and crunchy. You want to create beach waves that fall and flow in a soft, natural way. So, take it slow. Spritz a few light sprays and go from there. If your hair is thin, you definitely need to be careful with your application. If you have thick hair and notice that you don’t have enough product to achieve your desired results, spritz a few more sprays, focusing on the layers beneath your top layer of hair. Make sure you always spray evenly. You want to get all your hair and avoid spraying too much on one section.

Apply it to the Right Sections

Most people should only spritz their mid-lengths to ends. You avoid the roots because spritzing sea salt directly on your roots might overload them and dry out the top section of your hair, reducing some of your hair’s natural shine. However, if you have really thin, flat hair, you might consider adding a tiny amount of spray to your roots. This will dry them out a little and create a bit of lift, giving you a voluminous start to your beautiful waves.

Apply to Wet Hair

If you want beautiful beachy waves, you should apply the salt spray to wet hair. Spritzing on dry hair will texturize your locks, but it won’t create the look you desire. If you don’t want to wash your hair before styling, that’s fine. You can simply dampen your hair before applying the spray. After your hair is wet, spritz the sea salt spray evenly on your hair and work it through all the way to the ends, scrunching or twisting your hair as you go.

Drying it Correctly

Once you’ve spritzed, twisted, or scrunched your hair you need to dry it. If you have time and don’t mind, it’s great to let your hair air-dry. This will help you achieve a more genuine day-at-the-beach look. Of course, you don’t have to air-dry your hair. However, you don’t want to blast your hair with heat and mess up the effort you just put in either. If you choose to use a blow-dryer, you should only use it on the cool and low settings. Anything more can mess up your beachy wave hairstyle. Whatever you do, do not rub your hair with your towel at any point during this process. If you need to, you can pat it dry and gently scrunch with your towel if you hair is too wet, but do not rub it.

Fixing Mistakes

If you find that your hair turned a bit crunchy or crisp, and you don’t want to start over from the beginning, try adding a few sprays of a good leave-in conditioner to help soften it up a bit.

Sea salt spray is the perfect styling spray for beautiful day-at-the-beach wave hairstyles. If you think this look and styling method sounds like something you’d enjoy, try Kerastase Spray-a-porter sea salt spray and follow these helpful tips to create the perfect waves every time. Available at Red Market Salon Miami.
